Masters 75th Anniversary Celebration · Nicholas Roerich Masters Building NYC · 02/05
Nicholas Roerich, Russian painter, philosopher and mystic, resided briefly in NYC in the 20’s. A magnificent building was made in his honor, located at Riverside Drive and 103rd st. The vision was to bring all arts under one roof. It was called The Master Institue of United Arts , and it incorporated a museum for Roerich's paintings, a school for the arts, an in-house theater and an apartment hotel with maid service.

On Sunday, February 27th 2005, residents of The Master gathered for an event commemorating this historical, landmarked building.
A panel composed of guest speakers, painters, writers and performing artists, with Riverside Park as its backdrop, participated in a day-long 75th anniversary celebration of The Master.

Lu(x)z documented the gathering and compiled a DVD in collaboration with Mildred Speiser, the building historian. A copy of this DVD can be found in the Nicholas Roerich Museum.
